“We have to confess that Annette’s collection of porcelain tableware is one of our favourites on our site. So original in design and finished to an incredibly high standard, we just love it and we’re very excited to be able to show case her work.” Emma & Cath, Swanky Maison.

Designer-maker, Annette Bugansky spent her early college year focusing on costume design, where she learnt about textile structure and how fabrics can be manipulated. She then went on to study at Central St Martins, London, where she graduated, in 2005, with an MA in Ceramic Design.

Annette then embarked on a career in fashion and costume design, working with her family for Savile Row, where her father was a master tailor.

Drawing on her ceramic training and textile experience, and fueled by a passion for texture and surface pattern, Annette began using traditional techniques, but combining flat materials with three-dimensional forms to create beautifully handmade and original tactile forms from Porcelain.

Working from her studio in London, Annette designs and creates collections that bring the soft elements of handmade fabrics and textures together with contemporary ceramic form. The result is an exquisite collection of timeless pieces that, although look soft to touch are actually made from fine porcelain. Her designs are sensual, soft, minimal and contemporary.

Annette is very focused on designing and making ceramics for discerning customers who value beauty and quality. She delivers a superior level of craftsmanship and expertise, merging traditional home crafts with ceramics.

One of the UK’s finest up and coming designer-makers, Annette was awarded the Best Contribution to the Show Award by Crafts Magazine at Origin 2009 and her work has been selected by Fortnum & Mason in London for their show, “Handmade” for 2010.
