About CAROLINE GREEN POTTERY
“We just adore Caroline Green’s work, her beautifully hand thrown ceramic pieces are so stylish and elegant and finished to such a high standard. Creating subtle and unique designs, each creation is a piece of art in its own right and will add a touch of class to any dining experience, the perfect addition to the Swanky Maison collection.” Emma & Cath, Swanky MaisonCaroline Green is quite simply potty about clay! Although Caroline has experienced working in a variety of different medium including sewing, knitting, upholstery, painting, drawing and even stone, it wasn’t until she discovered porcelain that she really fell in love.
After that there was no going back. Working from her studio in Upper Clatford, Hampshire, Caroline loves creating pieces from different porcelains and is always thinking of what she should make next and what new techniques and styles she can come up with.
She admits that porcelain is not the easiest of materials to work with but its white, smooth and translucent properties enable her to create the designs she creates. Caroline also likes to experiment with different glazes, continuously mixing and testing translucent glazes mixed with a hint of subtle colours, to create finishes that enhance the beauty of porcelain rather than overwhelm it.
This passion for handmade ceramics is evident in the exquisite work she produces. Using hand thrown porcelain finished with these translucent glazes and decorated with dots and hand drawn lines, Caroline’s range includes delicate flower cut bowls, candle holders, napkin holders, vases and tableware – all delicately elegant and practical too, making them the perfect home accessories.
A true artist and perfectionist to boot, Caroline continually looks to evolve her designs, keeping them fresh and unique – creating perfect pieces for the discerning home maker.
