Founder of Coast Candle Company, Janis MacLean, studied aromatherapy back in 2005 and has ever since been a firm believer in the benefits of essential oils. For years Janis has promoted the healing powers of essential oils to anyone and everyone.
Developing a great knowledge of the subject matter and inspired by all that she learned, Janis starting creating candles, combining classic, elegant and simple designs with essential oils, creating scented candles that were both beautiful and beneficial.
Janis’ handmade scented candles proved so successful with her family and friends that, in 2010, she decided to embark on a business venture, making and selling her creations.
Janis grew up of the West Coast of Scotland and her designs are inspired by the natural beauty of these surroundings and happy memories evoked by the different aromas of essential oils.
These days, Janis, can be found working from home in the Scottish Highlands, surrounded by wax, many bottles of oils and lots of containers, wicks, testing sheets and more! She loves the making process, seeing her product coming together and looking beautiful. Gorgeous packaging is important to the overall finish and when she looks at a table full of black ribbon against white candle, she is in her element and cannot wait to show them off.
Janis uses only the finest pure essential oils and natural wax to create luxurious aromatherapy candles which are 100% natural. Strictly no additives or synthetic fragrances are used and each one is individually created and hand poured. The essential oils are added in controlled quantities so that you can enjoy the fragrance and it is not too overpowering.
The result is a collection of high quality and handmade natural candles that are aromatic, uplifting, luxurious and therapeutic.
