About GLASS PRIMITIF

Working from her attic studio in West Yorkshire, founder of Glassprimitif, Jo Whitehead, has been designing and making kiln formed glass for the past six years. Jo is completely passionate about glass and finds it a fascinating medium to work with. She loves the way it is both tactile and fragile, that it can be soft yet brittle and because it demands being treated with respect.
All Glasprimitif products are kiln formed – this means that the artist cuts, grinds, cleans and then fuses the handmade glass in a kiln to produce items such as handmade glass ornaments, glass fishes and glass dishes.
Jo originally trained in London as a textile designer, where she fell in love with bright and brash colours and developed her unique sense of design. Her inspiration is constantly changing and her collection this season is inspired by patchwork quilts and folk art.
All Glassprimitif glass is durable as it has been fused at correct temperatures and annealed in the kiln. Glassprimitif glass is all made from quality sheet glass such as Bullseye ™ in order to create a clean, stylish product with an individual handmade quality of design.
Each piece of handmade glass is unique in design and style, with an originality and quality that defies mass production.
