About MAGGIE WILLIAMS
“It was Maggie Williams’ beautiful glass pieces that first inspired us to create Swanky Maison. We were instantly wowed by her creations and wanted her on our site from the beginning. So, of course we’re absolutely thrilled she has joined the Swanky Maison Collection”. Emma & Cath, Swanky Maison.Winner of the BBC Homes and Antiques Talent Around Britain Award 2006, Maggie Williams lives, works and creates her beautiful glassware from The Glass Place, her studio and shop situated in the picturesque village of Veryan, South Cornwall.
Inspired by the natural world and, in particular, the luscious colours and shapes of tropical plants, Maggie creates a truly exquisite and striking collection of handcrafted glass pieces. Taking inspiration from all plant life, from Cacti to the deadly carnivorous Pitcher Plant, it’s interesting that most of her work evolves into vases and vessels for flowers.
Every piece is mouth blown, meticulously hand finished and therefore totally unique. With a palate of over thirty different colours, available as transparent or opaque, Maggie Williams offers a tremendous choice all made to order specifically for you.
Maggie loves the demanding nature of the design process and, always wanting to challenge her talents, she embraces the continuing learning curve it offers. For Maggie, working with hot glass is bewitching, addictive, challenging, often frustrating but always rewarding.
