Full of character and with a well-developed sense of adventure each Monkeyteer is an individual.
The makers of these fun characters are a mother and daughter team, Jane and Lucy. Jane is addicted to making Monkeyteer characters and obsessed by socks, buttons and not wasting any scraps of fabric and Lucy frames and photographs the finished Monkeyteers.
The inspiration for Monkeyteers came about when a lone sock monkey set off to spend the ski season in France. The original Monkeyteer, Mimi started having amazing adventures making snow angel monkeys on crisp, powder filled, pistes, balancing on chairlift cables at death defying heights and washing it all down with a beer and a crepe at the local bar.
Monkeyteers are travelling companions for the 21st century and are a great way to create and share your adventures whether it’s a walk on your local beach or an exotic mountainside on the other side of the world. Monkeyteers have their very own Facebook page where all their stories are shared and the grandfather of the tribe Doc Blogger shares his musing and philosophies through his itinerant blog.
Each Monkeyteer is made from a new pair of socks ranging from new born baby size to over the knee fashion statements and sometimes even tights for very, very, long legs. All
Monkeyteer seams are double stitched so they can make all sorts of moves without bursting their seams. Monkeyteer stuffing complies with British Standards BS5852 and BS1425 and can be machine washed at a gentle 30oC.
